At St Pancras International, Gilmours fabricated the bespoke acoustic trays that sit discreetly behind the station’s historic ironwork. Manufactured in aluminium and galvanised steel, each tray features a complex perforation pattern developed to meet strict acoustic and architectural performance criteria. Press-braked, chamfered and shaped to echo the rhythm of the station’s original timber detailing, these components play a critical role in preserving both the function and the visual integrity of this Grade I listed landmark. Though rarely seen by passengers, the trays exemplify the precision, craftsmanship and sensitivity required when working within one of London’s most celebrated heritage structures.
