Gilmours reimagined Glasgow University’s 1960s Boyd Orr building, replacing its exposed aggregate concrete façade with a fully bespoke powder coated aluminium cladding system. Working from colour-matched samples through to full-scale mock-ups, every detail was developed to stay true to the building’s architectural character while delivering a modern, high-performance envelope. The project combined custom powder coated finishes and precision-formed panels to achieve crisp shadow lines and a refined, durable façade that integrates seamlessly into the University’s skyline.
